Back in my own high school days I worked at a local camp kitchen washing dishes. I spent a lot of time at this camp and got to know the family that ran it. One adorable little member of that family was miss Madi. She was about 7 years old then. And now she is a beautiful young lady with a very bright future!!! It was great to reconnect with Madi this fall, hear about her plans for after high school, and see what a beautful girl she’s grown up to be.
Meet my favorite high school senior (who just so happens to be my beautiful cousin), Katie! I love this beautiful girl and cannot believe she’s graduating this year!! Seems like just a couple years ago I was tossing her up in the air while we were dancing and rocking out to “Kate” by Ben Folds Five :)
I am in love with the setting and feel of this engagement session! Melissa and Ted wanted to do their engagement session at their home, and I’m so glad we did! They live in a beautiful area. We even walked through the woods to a tiny cabin for some romantic shots deep in the forest :) I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding this August at The Barn on Jackson! I already know it’s going to be a beautiful celebration for these two!
Can I just say, I love my job?! I feel like this senior session with Jea’Ohnna perfectly sums up why I do! We have a blast during each session, get to pamper our seniors with professional hair and makeup to start the fun, and end with beautiful photos AND videos to show off their inner and outer beauty!
I had such a great time getting to know Jea’Ohnna. She’s intelligent, very polite and well-spoken, a leader, lots of fun and such a beauty! There’s not much I can say that would portray this more than her senior photos and video. So without further adieu, enjoy:

Meet Ryan! He’s a senior this year at Thomas Jefferson High School, and boy does he have a lot going for him! I first met Ryan last summer when I did a photo session for his band, Innocent Bystander. Ryan plays guitar in the band of four high school students. They play in venues all around the Tacoma area, and are really good!! Not only is Ryan a guitarist, he’s played varsity golf at his high school all four years! Ryan wanted to do his senior session at the Auburn Golf Course for its beautiful grounds and to incorporate his interests. We had a beautiful day for his session and I especially enjoyed riding the golf cart around from place to place! :)
Thanks for another great photo session, Ryan! It was great to see you again!
There’s no doubt about it, fall is the best time for photo sessions! I especially love family sessions in the fall. I kicked off this fall season with a very special family session! I recently blogged about my beginning to volunteer as a photographer for A Family For Every Child. I had the opportunity to do so again. This time was a sibling session with two teenage sisters, Kayla & Maya.
This girls were full of energy and lots of fun. Both of them most definitely have a fun sense of humor, and I enjoyed our time together. You can see photos from our session and ready more about Kayla and Maya on their bio page, here.
The sisters are currently in foster care and looking to find their forever family. I am sure they will bring lots of joy and fun memories to that special family that’s out there for them.
A Family For Every Child works hard to find loving, adoptable homes for children waiting in foster care. Kayla and Maya are on that list. It’s our hope that these photos will help convey the girls’ personality and fun spirit, to give potential forever families a glimpse into who they are.
It’s baaaaack! One of my very favorite places to shoot at… The Puyallup Fair! Oh man, there’s so much photography goodness about the fair! It’s a great place to capture kiddos having a blast and being themselves, couples snuggling up all cute and cozy on the ferris wheel, and I love the all the bold colors everywhere for high school senior sessions!
My husband and I went this week and I was quickly reminded of everything I love about shooting there. Here’s a couple quick iphone shots of my husband and I “doing the Puyallup” this week, followed by some professional images from one of my favorite family sessions there last fall.
