I recently shot a beautiful wedding with my friend, Joni Girvan, at the Edgewater in Seattle. Svenja and Garrett are such a sweet couple! Their wedding day was SUPER stormy, but it didn’t make a dent in their perfect day! Everyone was in high spirits and the place was full of love. I even got to play hero for a minute when the flower girl caught her dress on fire while twirling in the isle past a candle. I put it out (with my hand!! #likeaboss) without her ever knowing she was on fire!! Saving lives and taking photos, all in a day’s work ; )
I am in love with the setting and feel of this engagement session! Melissa and Ted wanted to do their engagement session at their home, and I’m so glad we did! They live in a beautiful area. We even walked through the woods to a tiny cabin for some romantic shots deep in the forest :) I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding this August at The Barn on Jackson! I already know it’s going to be a beautiful celebration for these two!
My friend and fellow photographer, Rebecca, and I, recently did Christmas photo sessions for each other. She did photos of my husband and me at a Christmas tree farm, and then I did photos of her and her husband at an old, and very cool, dairy farm! Rebecca is the girl behind Rebecca Anne Photography, check out her stuff!
It’s always so much fun when we get to spend some time together, and this time was no exception!! Though, I was a little nervous at first, being the photographer for another photographer I have to admit! Rebecca put so much thought into this session, she made and brought along the cutest props! Her and her husband are so super duper ridiculously cute together (yes, that many superlatives are necessary to accurately describe the degree of their cuteness)! I think I was smiling the entire time I was editing these, I just can’t get over their adorableness!!!
It’s baaaaack! One of my very favorite places to shoot at… The Puyallup Fair! Oh man, there’s so much photography goodness about the fair! It’s a great place to capture kiddos having a blast and being themselves, couples snuggling up all cute and cozy on the ferris wheel, and I love the all the bold colors everywhere for high school senior sessions!
My husband and I went this week and I was quickly reminded of everything I love about shooting there. Here’s a couple quick iphone shots of my husband and I “doing the Puyallup” this week, followed by some professional images from one of my favorite family sessions there last fall.
I recently had the privilege of photographing Sandy and Brian’s wedding day! They had a gorgeous backyard ceremony in Gig Harbor. We made time to get some great shots of them on the harbor as well. The forecast for the day wasn’t great, but we didn’t get a drop of rain and everything turned out beautifully!
The ceremony was full of gorgeous and thoughtful details.
I love this moment of her dad giving her away to her groom.
Brian wanted to be sure to include a shot with his cat, Taco! I love that it was important to him, and I LOVE it when grooms have fun ideas like this!
Thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph your day, Sandy & Brian! Congratulations and I wish you all the best!
The most beautiful season of the year is here! Flowers in full bloom, the excitement of finally seeing sunny days, and WEDDINGS! So glad spring has arrived!
Last week some photographer friends and I decided to take full advantage of all of this springy-ness. We got together at the University of Washington where we knew the iconic cherry trees would be in bloom. In a photographer’s world this was basically the perfect day… the weather was so warm, the campus was gorgeous, and we were enjoying it all in each other’s company. For me, that last part was much appreciated because rather than dragging my very patient husband along with me (love you!) I knew I was spending time with others that were enjoying it just as much as I was. I wasn’t worried about rushing to get my shots in and saying “Let’s just take one more” way more than one time :) We all could have shot there all day, and it just made for such a fun time!
I haven’t even gotten to the best part yet. In order to take full advantage of said springy-ness we needed one more component to complete the perfect day… BRIDES!! We had two beautiful brides model for us, and even one brother-in-law-groom (I’ll get to that later :) My only regret of the day was that I did not make enough time to photograph both beautiful brides. I did get the opportunity to steal Ari away for a little bit and we got some great shots!
Ari was lots of fun to work with and such a stunning model! She has such a great look and style – basically the perfect cover girl for any bridal magazine! And her eyes are super gorgeous!
Ari has truly been a bride and is married, but this is where the “brother-in-law-groom” comes in :) Her husband’s brother lives in Seattle and stopped by to visit Ari while we were on campus. Of course photographers can’t turn down the opportunity to photograph and bride AND groom ;) so her brother in law was such a great sport and lets us snap a couple quick shots of the two of them strictly for modeling purposes!
Thank you Ari and fellow photographer friends for the makings of a perfect day! Can’t wait till next time!! :)
Let me just say, two of my very un-favorite things are being cold and being wet…. BUT two of my most favorite things are Couple’s Sessions and fantastic clients that are up for anything!! That being said, I absolutely loved this session with Tia & Worth!
I do love a session in the snow, very much. However, we were not expecting snow or even rain this day! When I left my house, the skies were dry and by the time I arrived to meet Tia and Worth it was like a whole new season! They didn’t think twice about facing the rain and snow, they were such troopers, and it made for some incredible images!!
Such a gorgeous couple, these guys made my job easy!
They live in the most beautiful area! This river is running through their backyard! I am so tempted to bring more clients to your house for future sessions, Tia! ..but I won’t, I promise : )
Their pups were so cute too. One was so playful and the other had a bit of an attitude ;) I say that in a very loving way. It was fun to include them in our session!
To avoid getting completely chilled to the bone, flattened hair, and electrocuted by my camera we split up our session with a couple of breaks inside. I just love this next image. Tia & Worth – so hot right now! ;)
By the end of our session the snow had turned to pouring rain. Which doesn’t sound ideal for a photoshoot but I think it completely upped the romance level in these images.
I love how he’s looking at her in this one <3
Thank you so much Tia & Worth for an incredible session!!
